The HPE Networking Instant On AP32 introduces support for the 6 GHz band. This provides a dedicated, "clean" spectrum that is not crowded by older legacy devices, resulting in lower latency and higher speeds for modern smartphones and laptops that support Wi-Fi 6E.
Does the AP32 require a special wired connection?
To achieve its full potential aggregate speed of 2.8 Gbps, the AP32 features a 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet (2.5GbE) port. While it will work with a standard 1GbE switch, using a Multi-Gigabit PoE switch ensures that your wired network does not become a bottleneck for your wireless traffic.
How many devices can connect to a single AP32?
The AP32 is designed to handle 75+ active devices simultaneously. It uses MU-MIMO and OFDMA technology to manage multiple data streams efficiently, ensuring a stable experience even in busy office or retail environments.
Is there a monthly fee to manage the AP32?
No. Like all products in the Instant On family, the AP32 is managed via the HPE Networking Instant On mobile app or web portal with no subscription or licensing fees. All security updates and cloud management features are included for the life of the product.
Can I use the AP32 with my existing AP22 or AP25 units?
Yes. All Aruba and HPE Instant On access points are compatible with one another. You can mix and match different models in the same network and manage them all through a single interface. The AP32 can also participate in a Smart Mesh setup to extend coverage wirelessly.
What are the power requirements for the AP32?
The AP32 is highly efficient, with a maximum power draw of approximately 12.9W. It can be powered by a standard PoE (802.3af Class 3) or PoE+ (802.3at Class 4) source, or via an optional 12V DC power adapter.
