Customer Reviews

I bought it for my office. FortiGate offers one of the best protection. I received the product safely and it was well-packaged. The firewall is working perfectly without any issues. Very satisfied with the quality and service. Their support is excellent.I installed the FortiGate 40F for my network setup, and the overall build quality feels very solid and reliable. The device has a sturdy, industrial-grade design and was easy to mount and configure. All Ethernet connections are working perfectly, and performance is smooth even under heavy traffic. It handles high-speed data efficiently and provides excellent protection against network threats. The setup process was straightforward and the firewall features are powerful and easy to manage. Overall, it’s a durable, high-performance firewall and definitely worth the investment for securing network infrastructure.I changed the router in my 15-employee office. I now use a FortiGate 40F. The difference is huge. Setup was easy because of the FortiOS interface. The device has no fan. It sits on a shelf in our main work area and makes no noise. I feel safer now. It has real-time threat protection and web filtering. The SD-WAN feature helps manage our two internet lines. It made our VoIP calls much more stable. The licenses make it a bit expensive. But the peace of mind is worth it.I have deployed dozens of these for my clients' satellite offices. The FortiGate 40F is the perfect entry-level enterprise firewall. Zero-Touch Provisioning works flawlessly. I ship the unit directly to a site. Then I configure it remotely using FortiManager. It handles about 600 Mbps of Threat Protection throughput. That is plenty for most small branches. It is rugged and reliable. It fits into the Fortinet Security Fabric perfectly. If you need more ports or PoE, look at the 60F. For a standard 5-port setup, the 40F is the king of value.I am a practice manager for a dental clinic. Data security is not optional. It is a legal requirement. We switched to the 40F. We need to protect patient records. We also need to meet HIPAA audit standards. The reporting features in FortiGate Cloud are excellent. I can easily pull "Executive Summary" reports. These show our compliance status. It handles our encrypted traffic well. It does not slow down our scheduling software. The built-in antivirus and web filtering provide protection. A standard ISP router simply cannot do this. This is a must-have for medical or legal professionals.I manage IT for a small retail chain. We have five locations. We moved all our stores to the 40F. We wanted the SD-WAN capabilities. It manages our main fiber line and a 4G LTE backup. The switch is seamless. If the main line fails, the credit card terminals keep working. They failover to cellular backup instantly. I use FortiManager to push the same security policy to all five stores at once. This has saved me dozens of hours of travel time. The device is compact. It has no fan, so dust in a backroom is not a problem. It is rock-solid.This firewall has the best price-to-performance ratio in the enterprise world. The SOC4 ASIC chip is a beast. It handles standard firewall tasks and routing at 5 Gbps. That is overkill for most small offices. However, be aware of one thing. FortiOS is the software that runs on it. Newer versions (7.4 and above) are more advanced. The device has 2GB of RAM. It can get tight if you have many users or complex policies. For a 10 to 15 person office, this is a 5-star product. If you have 25 or more users with heavy security needs, you may want to step up to the 70F. That model has extra memory.
