What is the difference between JL683A and JL683B?
The JL683B is the newer hardware revision. The primary upgrade is improved acoustic performance. While the "A" model could be audible in a quiet room, the "B" revision uses a redesigned fan profile and more efficient cooling to operate at significantly lower decibel levels (approx. 25.8 dB at idle/low load), making it "nearly silent" for desk-side use.
Does it support 10G uplinks?
Yes. The JL683B features 4 dedicated SFP+ ports that support 10Gbps speeds. This is ideal for connecting to a high-speed server, a NAS, or as a "backbone" link to another switch in a multi-floor London office.
What does Class 4 PoE mean on this switch?
Class 4 PoE allows each PoE port to deliver up to 30 W of power, which is ideal for powering devices like access points, VoIP phones, and cameras without needing separate power adapters.
How can I manage this switch?
You can manage it using the Aruba Instant On cloud portal, mobile app (iOS/Android), local web GUI, or SNMP, giving remote access and monitoring capabilities.
Does this model support VLAN segmentation?
Yes — it supports VLANs, access control lists (ACLs), and advanced Layer 2 features to segment and secure network traffic.
Is this switch suitable for office, retail, and hospitality spaces?
Absolutely — with PoE+, fiber uplinks, and smart management, it’s ideal for environments that require reliable, secure, and high-performance wired networking.
What warranty support is included?
This switch is backed by a Limited Lifetime Warranty with phone support and chat support options throughout the warranty duration.
Is this switch a "Layer 3" switch?
It is a Layer 2+ switch, meaning it handles standard switching plus Static IPv4 Routing. This allows the switch to handle internal traffic routing between different VLANs (e.g., separating your Guest Wi-Fi from your Office Servers) without needing to send that data back to your main router, which speeds up the network.
