Features
The Ubiquiti UniFi Pro 24 PoE (USW-Pro-24-PoE) is an enterprise-grade, high-capacity Layer 3 managed switch designed to serve as the high-performance backbone for demanding corporate environments, smart homes, and Pro AV deployments. Engineered with advanced layer 3 routing capabilities, this ubiquiti managed switch natively supports local DHCP server configurations, DHCP relay, static routing, and high-efficiency inter-VLAN routing to drastically reduce upstream router overhead. Housed in a heavy-duty, SGCC steel 1U rackmount enclosure measuring 442 x 285 x 44 mm, it drops effortlessly into standard network server racks. Built for massive network workloads, it delivers an elite 88 Gbps switching capacity, a 44 Gbps total non-blocking throughput, and a lightning-fast 65 Mbps forwarding rate to manage data streams seamlessly across an expanded 16,000 MAC address table and 1,000 supported VLANs.
This versatile 24-port gigabit switch features an intelligent power-over-Ethernet port layout designed to streamline complex hardware deployments. It offers 16 GbE PoE+ RJ45 ports (delivering up to 30W per port) alongside 8 heavy-duty GbE PoE++ RJ45 ports capable of outputting an impressive 64W per port to drive power-hungry hardware like pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) cameras, building access systems, and high-density Wi-Fi 7 access points. Backed by an internal 450W internal AC/DC power supply, it guarantees a staggering 400W total PoE availability. For mission-critical infrastructure, the switch features DC power backup redundancy through the integrated USP RPS port, shielding your network core from unexpected electrical utility dropouts. Additionally, 2x 10G SFP+ fiber ports deliver ultra-fast, future-proof uplink options to eliminate backend choke points.
Network infrastructure monitoring is fully modernized via the centralized UniFi Network application (Version 5.10.5 and later), complete with an on-chassis 1.3" touchscreen LCM display that supports immersive Augmented Reality (AR) switch management for rapid, at-a-glance port troubleshooting. Optimized for specialized integrations, this ubiquiti network switch features native Pro AV profiles with optimized clock and packet delivery protocols for industry-standard frameworks including Dante, Q-SYS, NDI, and SDVoE. Administrators gain access to robust Layer 2 security, including LACP port aggregation, STP/RSTP, and both IP and MAC-based ACLs for granular device isolation. Operating safely inside server rooms from -5 to 40°C with heavy-duty air/contact ESD protection, this fully NDAA compliant hardware represents the gold standard of scalable, power-heavy commercial networking.

What is the total PoE budget available on the switch?
The USW-Pro-24-PoE has a total available PoE power budget of 400W. The internal power supply consumes up to 50W for its own operation, pulling a maximum of 450W from the wall.
What is the difference between the PoE ports on this switch?
The switch divides its 24 Gigabit ports into two types of power delivery:
-
Ports 1–16 (PoE+): Support 802.3af/at standards, delivering up to 30W per port. Perfect for standard access points, VoIP phones, and fixed IP cameras.
-
Ports 17–24 (PoE++): Support the high-power 802.3bt standard, delivering up to 60W per port. These are designed for power-hungry devices like pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) cameras, building access hubs, or high-density Wi-Fi 7 access points.
Can this switch run on a backup DC power source if building power fails?
Yes. The rear panel includes a proprietary USP-RPS (UniFi Smart Power Redundant Power System) DC input port. When paired with a USP-RPS unit, it provides seamless power failover protection without rebooting the switch if the primary AC power line goes down.
Does this switch support hardware-offloaded Layer 3 routing?
Yes, as a "Pro" level switch, it supports native Layer 3 routing features. It can handle inter-VLAN routing, static routing, and local DHCP server hosting directly on the switch hardware. This reduces the processing load on your primary security gateway/firewall by keeping local internal traffic routing inside the switch layer.
Can I aggregate multiple ports together to increase bandwidth to a server or NAS?
Yes. The switch fully supports Link Aggregation Control Protocol (LACP). You can combine multiple standard RJ45 gigabit ports, or aggregate the two 10G SFP+ uplink ports together to create a high-capacity trunk link to your core network.
Can the SFP+ ports be forced down to 1 Gbps link speeds?
Yes. While the two SFP+ ports run at 10 Gbps by default, they are backwards compatible. If you are connecting the switch to an older device that only supports 1G SFP, you can manually configure the port speed to 1 Gbps FDX via the UniFi Network application interface.
Is the USW-Pro-24-PoE loud? Does it have fans?
The switch features an integrated active thermal cooling design with internal fans. However, Ubiquiti utilizes low-noise fan logic. In typical office or server room environments under normal loads, the acoustic footprint is exceptionally quiet (near-silent operation).
What is the purpose of the small color screen on the front panel?
It is a 1.3" LCM color touchscreen. It displays real-time system metrics, link speeds, PoE consumption stats, and network alerts. Additionally, it integrates with the UniFi Mobile App's Augmented Reality (AR) feature, allowing you to hold your phone up to the switch to visually map out which client device is plugged into which physical port.
Can this switch be managed without a UniFi Cloud Gateway or Network Controller?
No. The USW-Pro-24-PoE is a fully managed ecosystem device. It does not have a standalone local web interface configuration page. It requires adoption into a centralized UniFi Network application (hosted via a Cloud Gateway, Cloud Key, or self-hosted software server) for provisioning and ongoing management.
